The Gavia Stream Forest Project, part of Madrid's Metropolitan Forest, aims to regenerate a degraded area in Villa de Vallecas through ecological restoration, floodplain terraces, sustainable drainage systems, and reforestation with native species. It promotes urban and ecological connectivity, enhances biodiversity, and creates recreational spaces, integrating environmental sustainability and community well-being as a response to climate change and the historical degradation of the area.
